Testing a few suits out today. I’ve lost enough weight that even my old ‘too tight’ suits are loose and give me almost nothing. Hopefully I am over these illnesses. I dropped from 335 to 325 in a night last week due to a crazy fever. I’ve never had visible muscle loss like this before. A little terrifying. Tonight wasn’t too bad though.

A note about the squats today. I was going deep enough that the powerlifters in my gym all thought I had gotten stapled under the weight when I did 550. Todd (the gym owner) yelled out “spot him” and I had to say I was fine. That should give you an idea how deep these were. That’s why the max weight is only 550.

Last training day before dallas.
All done with a mild hangover
Yoke: Up to 920 for 50 feet very easily
Farmer’s walk: Up to 355 x 50 feet, drop, turn, pick, and run back 50 feet. I would guess 15 seconds.
I try to avoid talking shit online, but I have every intention of flying home from Dallas with my pro card. I really believe that I can win 3-5 of the 6 event, and be near tops...

Did some pressing in my tennis shoes tonight. I want to wear them since I’ll be faster between presses in the medley. It went ok. I hit 350 on the log in them but I am definitely not 100% as stable so its a touch risky. Tonight was a really fast workout since I didn’t make it in until 9 and only had 60 minutes.

California’s Strongest Man 2009
What a great contest. This was the best venue I’ve ever competed in by far. There were huge crowds both days, especially day 2. The crowd was very into the contest as well which was excellent. We had tons of people cheering for us at all times. The equipment was excellent (and terrifying in the case of the Conan’s wheel), the staff was great, and everything ran really well.
